Film Editor
Kārlis Bergs is a Latvian American filmmaker and editor based in Brooklyn, NY. He recently completed his co-directed feature documentary Weeping Rocks—supported by the U.S. National Science Foundation Grant (2023), the Allan Sekula Social Documentary Grant (2020), and selected for the Ji.hlava New Visions Forum (2022)—which is currently awaiting its world premiere. His second co-directed feature, Water Into Land, now in post-production, was developed with the support of the Creatives Rebuild New York Artist Employment Grant (2022). As an editor, Bergs cut Family Portrait, directed by Lucy Kerr, which premiered at the Locarno Film Festival (2023). His short documentary The Threshold (2020) premiered at Riga IFF and screened at the Tacoma Film Festival, among others. He is also a co-owner of Lost Horizon Films.
